Facebook Font Generator

Bold, italic, script and 16 more Unicode styles for Facebook posts, comments and your Page intro, with a post preview and the fields Facebook keeps plain.

Facebook fonts are Unicode look-alike characters, not font files you install. Type your text, pick a style, copy it and paste it into a Page post, a comment or your Page intro. Keep profile names, Page names and usernames plain: Facebook's own name rules, quoted below, don't allow symbols there. This is one of the free Outfeed AI tools, and it needs no signup.

Page postNot documented

Facebook does not document whether this field accepts styled text.

Facebook's help pages, checked 2026-10-02, do not say whether styled Unicode letters work in this field. People do paste styled text into fields like this, but Outfeed has not tested it in the app.

Styling costs 12 more than the same text in plain letters (14).

How this is counted: The platform does not publish how it counts. Outfeed's publisher counts these posts in UTF-16 code units (JavaScript string length) โ€” conservative for emoji, which usually count 2.

A neutral mock-up, not a screenshot of Facebook. How styled letters look depends on the fonts on each reader's device; a missing character shows as an empty box.

  • Accessibility: Styled text is made of Unicode symbols, not fonts. Screen readers may read the symbols one by one or skip them, search may not match them, and some devices show them as empty boxes. Use them sparingly, and never for information people need.
  • Facebook's name standards: names may not include 'Symbols, numbers, unusual capitalization, repeating characters or punctuation' or 'Characters from multiple languages'. Facebook's Page name guidelines: Page names can't include 'Symbols (example: ยฎ) or unnecessary punctuation' or improper capitalization. Facebook does not mention Unicode styled letters by name, so keep profile and Page names in plain letters.

Facebook fonts by field: where Facebook refuses them, and where it says nothing

Facebook's published rules keep three fields plain: your profile name, your Page name and your username. For posts, comments and the Page intro, Facebook's help pages say nothing either way. People paste styled text there all the time, but Facebook doesn't document it, so check how it looks before you publish. Rules checked 2 October 2026.

Page name Plain text only Facebook's Page name guidelines: Page names can't include 'Symbols (example: ยฎ) or unnecessary punctuation' or improper capitalization. Facebook Help: Guidelines for Facebook Page names
Personal profile name Plain text only Facebook's name standards: names may not include 'Symbols, numbers, unusual capitalization, repeating characters or punctuation' or 'Characters from multiple languages'. Facebook Help: Names allowed on Facebook
Username Plain text only Usernames can only contain alphanumeric characters (Aโ€“Z, 0โ€“9) and periods. At least 5 characters. Facebook Help Center: Guidelines for creating a custom username
Page post Not documented Facebook doesn't document styled text here. It is widely pasted into fields like this; test it before you publish.

Meta's standards don't mention Unicode "fonts" by name. They rule out symbols and characters from multiple languages, and styled letters are not the ordinary letters of any language, so keep both names in plain letters. Read the full names allowed on Facebook and the Facebook Page name guidelines.

How to use the Facebook font generator

It works as a Facebook font changer without changing any font: it swaps each letter for a styled character, in your browser, in four steps.

  1. Type or paste your text. Styled text you paste in is turned back into plain letters first, so "๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐’ถ๐“ƒ๐“€ ๐“Žโ„ด๐“Š" becomes "Thank you" and the "Convert back to plain text" panel lets you copy that plain version.
  2. Choose where it is going. Pick Page post, comment or Page intro. Pick a name field and the tool shows Facebook's rule, and the preview keeps your letters plain.
  3. Compare the styles. Every style appears as a row. Press Preview to see one in the post mock-up, and read "Before you paste".
  4. Copy and paste. On a computer, paste with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac). On a phone, press and hold in the text box, then tap Paste.

Bold and italic text for Facebook posts

Bold text for Facebook works best on one line, not the whole post. The Bold row makes this a Facebook bold text generator: a bold hook or heading stands out in the feed; a full paragraph of maths letters is harder to read. A Page announcement might open with "๐†๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ", add "๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘’๐‘˜๐‘’๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘™๐‘ฆ" as an aside, and then carry on in plain text.

Keep the parts people search for or act on plain: your business name, product names, prices, dates and links. A styled letter is a different character from the plain one, so search may not match it, and a web address typed in styled letters is no longer that address. In a Page post announcing an event, style the event title and leave the date, time and place plain. For ideas on what to write around the hook, see Facebook engagement posts that earn replies.

Accessibility and search: use styled text sparingly

Styled text is made of Unicode symbols, not fonts. Screen readers may read the symbols one by one or skip them, search may not match them, and some devices show them as empty boxes. Use them sparingly, and never for information people need.

Styled letters are separate characters with their own Unicode names. A bold "Sale" is "mathematical bold capital s, mathematical bold small a, mathematical bold small l, mathematical bold small e", and a screen reader that announces character names may read exactly that. Each style row in the tool lists any letters that style doesn't have and keeps them plain, so a line never mixes in a wrong look-alike. Strikethrough and underline work differently: they add a mark after every character, emoji included, which can split a multi-part emoji such as a flag or a family, so add emoji after you paste. For code points and what each style costs in characters on every platform, with the accessibility sources behind this note, see the code point and character cost breakdown for each style.

From a styled post to a scheduled Page post

Once the line looks right, the post still has to be written and published. Outfeed AI is a chat-first social media manager: you describe the post, it drafts it in your brand voice, shows a preview per platform and schedules it. It publishes to Facebook Pages only, not personal profiles or Groups, plus Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky. TikTok posts from Outfeed currently publish as private while TikTok reviews the app, and posts to X are text only. Draft the post with the Facebook post generator, read how to schedule Facebook posts, or see what Outfeed AI is.

This generator stays free. The app is paid: Starter is $29/mo and includes a 3-day free trial with 100 AI credits. Card required. Pro and Agency are billed from the first day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the font on Facebook?

You don't install anything. What people call Facebook fonts are Unicode characters that look bold, italic or script, so the look travels with the text when you paste it. Type your text into this generator, pick one of the 19 styles, copy it and paste it into a Page post, comment or Page intro. It does not change the Facebook site font, the typeface Facebook's site or app draws text in.

Can I use fancy fonts in my Facebook name or Page name?

Keep them plain. Facebook's name standards say profile names may not include "Symbols, numbers, unusual capitalization, repeating characters or punctuation" or "Characters from multiple languages". Its Page name guidelines say Page names can't include "Symbols (example: ยฎ) or unnecessary punctuation". Facebook does not mention Unicode styled letters by name, but they are not the ordinary letters of any language, so keep both names in plain letters. Usernames are stricter still: Facebook allows only letters (Aโ€“Z), numbers (0โ€“9) and periods, and at least 5 characters. Rules checked 2 October 2026.

How do I get bold text in a Facebook post?

Type the line you want bold, copy the Bold row and paste it into your post. Bold here means Unicode's Mathematical Bold letters, for example "๐†๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ". Style one hook line or heading and keep the rest of the post, plus any names, prices, dates and links, in plain text so people and search can still read them.

Do styled letters show up in Facebook search and screen readers?

Not reliably. Styled text is made of Unicode symbols, not fonts. Screen readers may read the symbols one by one or skip them, search may not match them, and some devices show them as empty boxes. Use them sparingly, and never for information people need. A bold "Sale" is made of characters whose Unicode names are "mathematical bold capital s, mathematical bold small a, mathematical bold small l, mathematical bold small e", so a screen reader that announces character names reads those instead of the word.

What font does Facebook use?

Meta doesn't publish it. Outfeed found no Meta announcement or brand page that names the typeface the Facebook app uses for its interface, so this page doesn't name one. It makes no difference to styled text: the look comes from the Unicode characters you paste, and each reader's device draws them with whatever fonts it has.

Is the Facebook font generator free, and does my text leave my browser?

It is free, with no signup and no credit card. The conversion runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and the tool never contacts Facebook.
