How to Use Outfeed AI: Complete Getting Started Guide

Outfeed AI tutorial: connecting social accounts and writing a first post by chat in the Outfeed AI web app

This Outfeed AI tutorial covers the first hour: signing in at app.outfeed.ai, connecting your social accounts, writing your first post in chat, checking the per-platform previews, and publishing or scheduling it. Five steps, no dashboard to learn first, and about five minutes before the first post is live.

I am Mehran G., the founder, so treat this as the official description of how the product works rather than an independent verdict — the Outfeed AI review is the version that leads with the weaknesses. If you have not met the product yet, what Outfeed AI is covers the what before this page covers the how.

How Do I Log In to Outfeed AI?

Sign in at app.outfeed.ai. That one address handles both signing in and creating an account, so there is no separate sign-up page to hunt for, and nothing to download first.

Before You Start This Outfeed AI Tutorial: What You Need and What the Trial Costs

You need three things: a browser, at least one social account you have publishing rights on, and a payment card — the trial requires one. Nothing is charged on the day you sign up, but the card is not optional, and it is better to know that before you are halfway through setup.

What the 3-day trial actually includes:

Trial detailWhat you get
Length3 days
AI credits100
Connected accounts25
Posts50
Team members1
PlatformsAll 9
CardRequired — nothing charged today, cancel any time
At the endConverts to the plan you selected unless you cancel (Terms of Service §6.2)

Three days is short on purpose: it is a test drive, not a free month. Plan for it — connect your accounts on day one and publish something real, because a trial spent reading the interface tells you nothing about whether the writing is good. You can cancel from inside the app at any point in the 3 days.

If you have not chosen a plan yet, the Outfeed AI pricing breakdown shows where Starter stops and Pro begins — the short version is that Starter and Pro are flat monthly prices and Agency is the per-seat tier.

Not ready to put a card down? The 63 free social media tools need no signup and no credit card, and they are the cheapest way to judge the writing quality before you start any trial clock.

Step 1: Connect Your Social Accounts

Connecting an account means authorising Outfeed AI through that platform’s own OAuth screen — you never type a social password into Outfeed AI. Each network shows you its own login and permission page, hands back a token, and lets you revoke that token from its settings whenever you want. The OAuth 2.0 standard describes the handshake if you want the mechanics.

The nine supported platforms are Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky. All nine are available on every plan; plans differ in how many accounts you can connect, not which networks you can reach.

Three things to sort out before you start clicking through permission screens:

  • Instagram needs a Business or Creator account. That is Meta’s rule for every scheduling tool, not ours — see Meta’s Instagram Platform documentation. A personal profile cannot be published to by any third-party app.
  • You need publishing rights on the account itself. If you manage a client’s Facebook Page or LinkedIn company page, make sure your own login has admin or content permissions there first, or the permission screen will not offer the page.
  • Connect only what you will actually post to this week. The trial allows 10 accounts, but authorising profiles you will not use just makes the previews noisier.

When the platform’s permission screen appears, it names the app requesting access and shows its logo. Those are the assets published on our press kit page, which is a reasonable way to confirm you are authorising the right thing.

Step 2: Describe the Post You Want, in Chat

Type what you want in plain language and the assistant writes a version for each connected account. There is no composer to configure and no template to pick first — the instruction is the interface. Three examples of the kind of thing that works, taken from the ones already published on what Outfeed AI is:

  • “Post a behind-the-scenes note about today’s release to LinkedIn, X and Threads.”
  • “Draft a week of Monday-to-Friday tips about email deliverability.”
  • “Turn this blog post into an Instagram carousel caption and a TikTok hook.”

You do not need to specify character limits, hashtag counts or aspect ratios. Those are platform rules and the tool already applies them. What is worth specifying is anything the AI cannot infer: the tone you want, the offer or date that has to be exact, which networks are in scope, and whether a link belongs in the post.

The weak draft almost always comes from the vague instruction. “Write something about our sale” gets a generic post; “announce our Friday 20% sale, cheeky tone, mention it ends Sunday night, skip Pinterest” gets something you can publish. To see the output shape before signing in, the free social media post creator runs an idea without an account.

Step 3: Check the Per-Platform Previews Before Anything Goes Out

Nothing publishes until you approve it, and every version is rendered as that network will show it. This is the step people skip and regret: the whole point of one instruction producing nine drafts is that you read the nine drafts.

What to actually look at, network by network:

  • The first line on Instagram and TikTok. Everything after it is behind a “more” link on a phone.
  • Length on X. The draft fits the limit, but a thread that breaks in an awkward place still reads badly.
  • Register on LinkedIn. The one place where a joke that works on Threads can land wrong.
  • The link. Check that it is the URL you meant, on the networks where links behave well.
  • The media. Confirm the right image is attached to the right platform before the send, not after.

If one version is wrong, say so in chat and fix that one — the others stay as they are. Per-platform overrides and bulk scheduling are listed on Pro and above; asking for a change in conversation is how the chat-first path handles it on any plan.

Step 4: Publish Now or Drop It in the Queue

You have two choices at approval: publish immediately, or schedule it — either at a time you pick or at the suggested window for each platform. Scheduling is per platform, so the same idea can go out on LinkedIn at 8am and on Instagram in the evening without you creating two posts.

What the suggested window is based on, and what it does when an account is too new to have history, is explained in our guide to the AI social media scheduler. If you would rather decide timing yourself, the research on the best time to post on social media beats any tool’s default.

Two publishing limits worth knowing on day one:

  • Post volume. The 3-day trial runs on Starter’s limits (100 posts, plus 100 AI credits), Starter covers 100 a month, and Pro and above are unlimited.
  • X/Twitter has a per-cycle cap — 25 posts on the trial, 75 on Starter, 150 on Pro and 350 on Agency — because X charges per API tier. If X is your main channel, check that ceiling against your posting rate before you commit.

Step 5: Brand Voice AI and Adding Your Team

Brand Voice AI is a Pro feature, and it is the difference between drafts that sound like an assistant and drafts that sound like you. It learns your tone, vocabulary and recurring themes and applies them to everything the assistant writes. Agency adds custom brand-voice training, which is what you want when one workspace runs several client brands that must not sound alike.

Team access comes with the plan rather than as a separate product:

PlanPriceTeam members
Starter$29/mo flat1
Pro$59/mo flat3 included
Agency$149 per seat/moUnlimited

The honest framing: Starter and Pro are flat, not per seat — three people on Pro pay $59 a month in total, where Hootsuite and Sprout Social bill per seat from their entry tier. Past three members, Outfeed AI moves to Agency and bills per seat too, so the advantage belongs to teams of one to three rather than to every team size. Compare monthly totals rather than assuming we win.

Is There an Outfeed AI Mobile App?

No — Outfeed AI is a web app, and there is no native iOS or Android app at launch. The interface works in any mobile browser at app.outfeed.ai, which is enough to read previews, approve a draft and move a scheduled time from a phone. What you do not get is push notifications, offline drafting or a share-sheet extension, and if you post mostly from your phone that will be a daily annoyance rather than a footnote.

If you search an app store for “Outfeed” you will find results that are not us. Outfeed is an ordinary English noun — what the word outfeed means explains the machinery sense — so several unrelated products share it, including a feed reader and an outfit app.

When Something Goes Wrong: Expired Tokens, Partial Publishes and Platform Limits

Four things break in practice, and none of them require a support ticket to diagnose.

A connection expires. Platforms rotate tokens on their own schedule, and a revoked or expired token means that network stops accepting posts. The fix is the same OAuth screen you used in Step 1; the queue picks up from there.

A post publishes to some networks and not others. The post lands in a partial state and the status names the network that failed rather than dropping the whole thing silently. Fix the cause — usually a media format or an expired connection — and re-send that one platform.

A platform rejects the content itself. Each network has its own rules about media dimensions, video length and what can be published through an API at all: Meta requires a Business or Creator account for Instagram, and TikTok’s content posting API has its own constraints on what third-party apps may post. Those rejections come from the platform, and no scheduling tool can route around them.

You hit an AI limit. AI usage is metered: each plan has a monthly allowance plus an hourly chat rate limit — 10 messages an hour on Starter, 30 on Pro, 50 on Agency. Normal use never touches it; generating a quarter of content in one sitting will.

If none of that explains it, email contact@outfeed.ai. Support is one person in Toronto, in Eastern Time — slower than a staffed help desk on a Saturday night, and you can read who you are emailing on the about page.

What Outfeed AI Does Not Do (Know This Before Day 3)

Outfeed AI creates, previews, schedules and publishes. It does not measure, reply or listen. Knowing that on day one saves you a trial spent looking for features that are not there:

  • No analytics inside the product. You read results in each platform’s native insights. If client reporting is a weekly job, this is a real gap.
  • No unified inbox, comment management or social listening. It publishes; it does not help you reply.
  • No approval workflows. There is no formal review chain for a post before it goes out.
  • No native mobile app, as above.
  • Nine platforms, not eleven. Buffer adds Google Business Profile and Mastodon; if either is in your mix, Buffer covers it and we do not.

The full list, worst first and with the reasoning, is in the honest Outfeed AI review. It is a better use of ten minutes than a second pass through this tutorial.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in to Outfeed AI?

Sign in at app.outfeed.ai. The same address handles both signing in and creating an account, so there is no separate sign-up page to find. Outfeed AI is a web app, so you reach it in any modern browser rather than through an app store.

Is there an Outfeed AI mobile app?

No. Outfeed AI is a web app only — there is no native iOS or Android app at launch. The interface works in a mobile browser at app.outfeed.ai, so you can approve drafts and schedule posts from a phone, but you do not get push notifications, offline drafting or a share-sheet extension. Any “Outfeed” app you find in an app store is a different product from an unrelated developer.

How long is the Outfeed AI free trial, and do I need a card?

The trial is 3 days on the Starter plan and includes 100 AI credits, 10 connected accounts, 100 posts, 1 member and all 9 platforms. A payment card is required to start it, nothing is charged on the day you sign up, and you can cancel at any time from inside the app. If you do not cancel within the 3 days, the trial converts to Starter, as set out in section 6.2 of our Terms of Service. Switching to Pro or Agency during the trial ends it and bills the new plan at once.

Do I need to give Outfeed AI my social media passwords?

No. Every account connects through that platform’s own OAuth screen — Instagram, LinkedIn, X and the rest each show you their own login and permission page, and Outfeed AI receives a revocable token rather than your password. You can revoke that access from the platform’s own settings at any time, and tokens also expire on each platform’s schedule, at which point you reconnect through the same screen.

Which Outfeed AI plan should I start on?

Start on Starter ($29/month flat) if you are one person with 10 or fewer connected accounts and post roughly 100 times a month or less. Move to Pro ($59/month flat) for Brand Voice AI, unlimited posts, 25 accounts, per-platform overrides, bulk scheduling and 3 team members. Agency is $149 per seat per month and only makes sense past 3 members or 25 accounts. Starter and Pro are flat prices; Agency is the per-seat tier.

What happens if a post fails on one platform?

The post lands in a partial state and the status names the network that failed instead of dropping it silently. The versions that succeeded stay published, so a TikTok rejection does not take your LinkedIn post down with it. The usual causes are an expired connection, a media format the network will not accept, or a platform-side rule such as Instagram requiring a Business or Creator account.

The Short Version

Sign in at app.outfeed.ai, connect your accounts through each platform’s OAuth screen, describe the post you want in chat, read the per-platform previews, then publish or queue it. That is the whole loop, and after the first one it takes about a minute — which is the case the Outfeed AI homepage makes and this page is meant to prove.

Three things to remember from day one: the trial is 3 days with a card on file, Brand Voice AI starts on Pro, and the product publishes rather than measures. Nothing here is hidden behind an onboarding wizard, so the fastest way to evaluate it is to publish something real on the first afternoon.

Start your 3-day free trial — or run an idea through a free tool first and judge the writing before you sign up for anything.
