Sprout Social Pricing 2026: Real Per-Seat Costs
Prices verified on sproutsocial.com/pricing.
Sprout Social pricing starts with Essentials at $99 per seat/month, billed monthly, or $79 per seat/month, billed annually. Every user is a paid seat, so the figure that matters is the team total: three people on Standard pay $747 a month, billed monthly, or $597 a month, billed annually ($7,164 a year).
Sprout’s pricing page shows one seat’s rate and leaves the multiplication to you. Below: every plan on both billing bases, seat totals for 1 to 10 people, the profile limit that forces an upgrade, and the add-ons with no public price. How much does Sprout Social cost in 2026?
Sprout Social has four list-priced plans and a custom Enterprise tier, all charged per seat per month. On monthly billing, a seat costs $99 on Essentials, $249 on Standard, $399 on Professional and $499 on Advanced. On annual billing the same seats cost $79, $199, $299 and $399 a month.
The plan cards show the annual rates by default; the month-to-month rates sit in the pricing FAQ. You can pay monthly, but it costs more on every plan. A blog that says Standard costs $199 is quoting the annual rate.
Disclosure: Outfeed AI makes a competing social media tool. We read every price on the vendor’s own page and recommend the competitor where it fits better.

What does per seat mean on a Sprout Social invoice?
Per seat means the plan price is multiplied by the number of people who log in. Sprout prices every plan “per seat/month”, so five people on Standard pay for five full Standard seats. Budget a seat for everyone who needs a login, including the manager who only approves posts.
The social profile limit works differently. Sprout states it per plan (5 on Essentials and Standard, unlimited on Professional and Advanced) and does not say whether it grows with seats, so our totals treat it as an account-wide limit. Sprout’s pricing page lists no extra-profile add-on, which means the sixth profile moves you to Professional, the first plan without a cap. A single brand on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube is already six profiles.
Per seat is one of four billing units in this category, which is why “which tool is cheaper?” has no single answer. Hootsuite and Agorapulse also bill per user, Buffer per channel, Later per social set and Metricool per brand bundle. Agorapulse starts at $99 per user/month, billed monthly (Agorapulse pricing, plan by plan), while Metricool’s Starter bundle for up to five brands is $25 per month, billed monthly (Metricool pricing explained). Per-seat tools get expensive as the team grows; per-channel and per-brand tools as the profile list grows. Our guide to per-seat vs per-account pricing works through which model suits which team shape.

What is included in each Sprout Social plan?
Essentials covers publishing and reporting for up to 5 profiles. Standard adds the consolidated inbox, keyword monitoring and review management. Professional removes the profile cap and adds competitor and paid insights. Advanced adds sentiment analysis, the Sprout API and helpdesk integrations. Enterprise adds onboarding, SSO setup and priority support at a custom price. Every plan includes 100 Trellis AI agent credits per seat per month.
As listed on Sprout’s pricing page on 30 September 2026:
- Essentials: up to 5 social profiles, optimal send times, profile and post-level reporting, and Trellis, Sprout’s AI assistant. No brand keywords, so no monitoring.
- Standard: 5 social profiles, the consolidated inbox and collaboration tools, keyword and location monitoring (10 brand keywords per group) and review management.
- Professional: everything in Standard plus unlimited profiles, message tagging, competitor, tag and paid insights, and AI Assist for drafting posts. Sprout’s own guide to choosing a plan places approval workflows here.
- Advanced: everything in Professional plus AI Assist for replies, sentiment in the Smart Inbox and reviews, the Sprout API and helpdesk integrations, team productivity and customer care reports, and message spike alerts.
- Enterprise: everything in Advanced plus white-glove onboarding, a tailored plan, SSO setup and priority support.
The practical reading: you need Standard for any inbox or monitoring, Professional once you pass 5 profiles or need approvals, and Advanced only if the social team feeds a helpdesk.
What does Sprout Social cost for 3, 5 or 10 people?
On monthly billing, Standard costs a three-person team $747, five people $1,245 and ten people $2,490 a month. On annual billing the same teams pay $7,164, $11,940 and $23,880 a year. Professional costs more at every size.
This is the table Sprout’s pricing page doesn’t print. Each cell shows both billing bases, worked out from the per-seat rates above:
| Plan | 1 seat | 3 seats | 5 seats | 10 seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sprout Social Standard Billed per seat/month · up to 5 social profiles per account | $249/mo billed monthly $2,388/yr billed annually $199/mo equivalent | $747/mo billed monthly $7,164/yr billed annually $597/mo equivalent | $1,245/mo billed monthly $11,940/yr billed annually $995/mo equivalent | $2,490/mo billed monthly $23,880/yr billed annually $1,990/mo equivalent |
| Sprout Social Professional Billed per seat/month · unlimited social profiles | $399/mo billed monthly $3,588/yr billed annually $299/mo equivalent | $1,197/mo billed monthly $10,764/yr billed annually $897/mo equivalent | $1,995/mo billed monthly $17,940/yr billed annually $1,495/mo equivalent | $3,990/mo billed monthly $35,880/yr billed annually $2,990/mo equivalent |

How these totals are worked out: USD list price before tax; no promo, nonprofit or volume discount. Every seat pays the full plan price. Profile cap of 5 treated as account-wide. Annual total = the vendor's annual per-month figure x 12.
The row labels show the catch. Standard stops at 5 social profiles, so a five-person team that adds a sixth profile moves every seat to Professional. On monthly billing that takes the bill from $1,245 to $1,995 a month; on annual billing, from $11,940 to $17,940 a year. The jump comes from a profile, not a person, so count your profiles before you count your seats.
Which Sprout Social features cost extra?
Listening and Premium Analytics are the two big extras. Sprout sells each as a separate add-on for the Standard plan and up, and on 30 September 2026 its pricing page gave no price for either, so the only way to get a figure is a sales quote. Employee Advocacy and Influencer Marketing are also listed without prices.

| Listening | Standard and up | Not published. Contact sales |

| Trellis AI agent credits | 100 per seat per month on every plan | No per-credit figure in the plan table; see the FAQ “How much does Trellis cost and how do credits work?” |
If listening is the reason you’re looking at Sprout, get the add-on quote before you compare seat totals. The seat grid above is the floor of the bill, not the bill.
Does Sprout Social have a free trial or free plan?
Sprout Social has no free plan, but it offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial banner on the pricing page reads “Try Sprout free for 30 days · No credit card required. Annual billing.” Because no card is taken at sign-up, staying on after the trial means choosing a plan and a billing basis yourself.
Sprout’s FAQ also covers nonprofit pricing; we record list prices only. Thirty days is enough to test the inbox, reporting and approvals you’d be paying for before committing a team to per-seat billing.
Is Sprout Social worth the price, and when is it not?
Sprout is worth it when social media is a customer-care and reporting function, not only a publishing one. Its listening, presentation-ready reports, Smart Inbox and approval workflows are genuinely strong, and they are what the per-seat price pays for. It is poor value for one to three people who mostly schedule posts, because they pay for depth they won’t use.
Where Sprout earns its price:
- Listening at research scale. Sprout’s listening product builds queries, tracks sentiment and share of voice against competitors, and lets you ask Trellis research questions in plain language.
- Reports you can hand to a boss. The analytics suite covers cross-network, per-network, paid vs organic, competitor and team-activity reports, with multi-year history.
- An inbox built for teams. In the Smart Inbox, “Collision Detection alerts your team in real time when a colleague is already responding”, and past conversations with the same person show inline as you reply.
- Governance. Approval workflows from Professional, and helpdesk integrations and the API on Advanced.
When it isn’t worth it:
- Small teams that mainly publish. Three people who schedule and report pay three full seats for listening and inbox depth they won’t open.
- Many profiles, small budget. The 5-profile limit on Essentials and Standard pushes multi-network brands to Professional early.
- An inbox is the main need. Agorapulse bills per user too, and from its Professional plan the inbox also handles ad comments on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. Compare it on Agorapulse pricing.
- Analytics on a budget. Metricool has a free-forever plan for one brand with competitor benchmarking, and bills per brand rather than per person.
- Monitoring without an add-on. Hootsuite includes brand and competitor monitoring on every plan. Our Hootsuite vs Sprout Social comparison runs the seat totals for both.

How does Outfeed AI compare for a team of three or five?
Of the tools that bill per seat — Sprout Social and Hootsuite — Outfeed is not one of them at Starter or Pro; our per-seat tier starts at Agency. That matters most at 3 people. Outfeed AI Pro is $59 per month, billed monthly, or $49 per month, billed annually, for the whole organisation, with 3 team members, 25 social accounts and unlimited posts.
At 5 people the comparison changes, because Outfeed bills per seat too. Pro holds 3 members, so a five-person team moves to Agency: on monthly billing, five seats at $149 per seat/month come to $745 a month; on annual billing, five seats at $124 per seat/month come to $620 a month ($7,440 a year).

How these totals are worked out: USD list price before tax; no promo, nonprofit or volume discount. Every seat pays the full plan price. Profile cap of 5 treated as account-wide. Annual total = the vendor's annual per-month figure x 12. Profile cap of 250 treated as account-wide (org-wide hard cap; more = Enterprise).
What you give up is real. Outfeed has no social listening and nothing that matches Sprout’s reporting suite, Smart Inbox or approval workflows. It publishes to 9 platforms; on X it posts text only, within monthly caps, and TikTok posts currently publish as private. What it does instead is chat-first publishing: you describe the post, the AI drafts it in your brand voice, shows a preview for each platform and schedules it. For the feature-by-feature version, see Outfeed AI vs Sprout Social, our plan breakdown, and the guide to schedulers for small businesses.
Starter includes a 3-day free trial with 100 AI credits. Card required. Pro and Agency are billed from the first day. If a three-person team that mainly publishes is paying for Sprout seats, try Outfeed AI’s chat-first scheduler.
FAQ
How much does Sprout Social cost per month?
Essentials, the cheapest plan, costs $99 per seat/month, billed monthly, or $79 per seat/month, billed annually. Standard is $249 per seat/month, billed monthly or $199 per seat/month, billed annually. Enterprise is custom-priced.
Does Sprout Social charge per user?
Yes. Every plan is priced per seat, and each person who needs a login takes one. Three people on Standard cost $747 a month, billed monthly, or $597 a month, billed annually ($7,164 a year).
Is there a free plan for Sprout Social?
No. Sprout Social has no free plan. It offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial the cheapest plan is Essentials at $99 per seat/month, billed monthly, or $79 per seat/month, billed annually.
How much does Sprout Social’s social listening cost?
Sprout does not publish it. Listening is an add-on for the Standard plan and up, alongside Premium Analytics, and on 30 September 2026 neither had a price on Sprout’s pricing page. You need a quote from Sprout’s sales team, on top of the per-seat plan price.
Can you pay for Sprout Social monthly?
Yes. The plan cards show annual rates, but the pricing FAQ lists month-to-month rates, per seat per month: Essentials $99, Standard $249, Professional $399 and Advanced $499 on monthly billing, against $79, $199, $299 and $399 on annual billing.
What are the hidden costs of Sprout Social?
Three things push the bill past one seat’s price: every extra user is a full seat; Essentials and Standard stop at 5 social profiles, so a sixth profile means Professional; and Listening, Premium Analytics and Employee Advocacy are add-ons with no published price.
