X Premium comes in three tiers: Basic, Premium and Premium+. On the web, X lists them from $3, $8 and $40 a month, or $32, $84 and $395 a year, before tax. Basic has no checkmark, Premium adds the blue checkmark after a review, and only Premium+ includes X Pro.

Prices are X’s US web prices before tax, dated under the table. Premium is the name X now gives Twitter Blue; the Twitter-to-X explainer dates the rename.

What is X Premium?

An X Premium subscription is an opt-in, paid add-on to a regular X account. It replaced Twitter Blue, which X’s FAQ now calls “legacy Blue”. These are “starts at” prices before tax and payment fees. On 3 October 2026, X’s live page confirmed only its “starting at $3/month or $32/year” headline; the per-tier figures come from its collapsed FAQ, read from an archived copy. X’s Premium FAQ says app prices “are different on Android and iOS devices due to application store fees”, and the web gets “the lowest price”. What does each X Premium tier include?

Each tier includes everything below it: Basic adds editing and length, Premium the checkmark and creator programmes, Premium+ SuperGrok, near ad-free browsing and X Pro.

Basic

X Premium Basic has no checkmark. It lets you edit an original post or quote up to five times within an hour, write longer posts, upload longer videos, keep private bookmark folders, format text and get some reply prioritization. Checked against X Help Center: X Premium how to X’s own pages disagree on the limits:

X still lists creating a Community for every tier, which may be out of date: in April 2026, its head of product gave users “until May 30th to transition to XChat”. Checked against X Help Center: About X Premium Checked against Post by Nikita Bier (@nikitabier), Head of Product at X

Premium

Premium adds the blue checkmark, which appears after X reviews the account and means an active Premium or Premium+ subscription that meets X’s eligibility requirements. Checked against X Help Center: About profile labels and checkmarks on XArchived copy, 1 October 2026 View the archived copy Our guide to getting the blue check on X covers the review. Premium also adds fewer ads, ID verification, Media Studio, larger reply prioritization, higher Grok limits and the right to apply for X’s creator payout programmes, Original Content Rewards and Creator Subscriptions.

Premium+

Premium+ adds SuperGrok, the largest reply prioritization, an ad-free experience across most of X, and X Pro, listed “Only for Premium+ Tier”. Checked against X Help Center: About X Premium X Pro, formerly TweetDeck, is covered in what X Pro does and who can use it, and its scheduler sits alongside X’s other options in how to schedule tweets. Articles, X’s long-form format, is also a paid feature, but X’s page contradicts itself on which tier gets it.

Does X Premium remove ads?

Only Premium+ comes close. Basic doesn’t reduce ads. Premium cuts ads by about 50% in the For You and Following timelines only; X says the reduction doesn’t apply to ads on profiles, in replies or in Explore. Premium+ is ad-free across most of X, though sponsored content may still appear.

Is X Premium worth it?

It depends on the feature you’d use. Who each option suits:

  • Basic: editing, posts past 280 characters and longer videos, without a checkmark.
  • Premium: the blue checkmark, fewer timeline ads, ID verification or applying for X’s creator payouts.
  • Premium+: near ad-free browsing, SuperGrok or X Pro’s columns.
  • None of the above: a free account still posts up to 280 characters.

FAQ

How much does X Premium cost?

X lists web prices from $3 a month or $32 a year for Basic, $8 or $84 for Premium, and $40 or $395 for Premium+, before tax. Prices vary by location, and X says app prices on iOS and Android differ because of app store fees, with the web giving the lowest price.

What is the difference between X Premium and Premium+?

Premium adds the blue checkmark (after a review), about 50% fewer ads in the For You and Following timelines, ID verification and Media Studio to Basic. Premium+ includes all of that plus SuperGrok, an ad-free experience across most of X, though sponsored content can still appear, and X Pro.

Does X Premium include Grok?

Premium and Premium+ do. X lists increased usage limits on Grok in Premium and SuperGrok in Premium+, and its summary of Basic doesn’t mention Grok. Features vary by platform and location.

Do you get paid with X Premium?

Not automatically. Premium and Premium+ let you apply for Original Content Rewards, which X calculates from qualified impressions by Premium users, and Creator Subscriptions, where people subscribe to you for monthly content. Both have eligibility requirements, and Basic includes neither.

How do I cancel X Premium, and can I get a refund?

Cancel in the settings of the platform you subscribed on, at least 24 hours before renewal; App Store and Google Play purchases go through Apple or Google. Features last until the billing cycle ends. X says subscriptions are non-refundable unless the law requires it, and it offers no free trial.
